Grand Knowledge, Globalization,  & the Muslim World! – Part One

Many people around the world today, witnessed in recent years, people movement and dispersal, electronic extension and various inventions diffused to the citizens of the world. In addition to cultural and homogenization, democratization and globalization are crossing national boundaries. Almost all stand in opposition to individual and collective identity which may threaten the notion of the world as we knew it.

In other words, common territories, common origins, and common destinations create severe decrease to the old  different one world [south-north-east-west] notion. Furthermore, languages are competing with each other for communication supremacy on literature, internet solutions. English language in particular, is competing with local  ethnic, religious, and cultural collectivities identities. The diffusion of Pop-culture also, is invading almost every dwelling house on the globe. The above mentioned issues are confronting the people of the world, and making them feeling unease and uncomfortable with the rapid changes characterize modern times. In sociology we acknowledge some synonyms dealing with these changes. For example, diversity-pluralism [in terms of race relations, politics and economy], universalism-particulars [Parsons terminologies], relativism – absolutism, [Einstein terminology], subjectivism-objectivism {nonsense – common sense science], unity and dispersion [of atom], all  and many others came into being to preoccupy the people of the world with tension and concern as characteristics of open-ended  crisis for traditional societies advanced societies as well.

The odds are coming into impossibility of living together in peace. Finally globalization is coming face to face with local, national and cultural ambitions and aspirations. A new formulation of unity is increasing in terms of the masses of the world, some are positive, others are negative in their appeals and application. The masses are coming together to straighten the ills of the unjust formulation of the new world of globalization. The sense of masses morality is waking up in almost all corners of the world against corruption behaviors, resources misuses, wars,  and spoiling social and natural environments.

Some factors lead to this conclusion, the widespread of dematerialization of traditional unities by globalization and world order. The new form of colonialism may be called coercion  domination of the strong over the weak, or the rich over the poor or the know more and the know very much less of the spirit of the age in the twenty first century, or the evolutionism over creationism, or materialism over spiritualism, which contributed to the creation of silent invisible masses all over the world.

All the above can be applied to the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) members, or what is known the collective unity of the Muslim world. In  both its reconstruction models and functions.

Globalization may include much of the variables mentioned above as will as its opposites. Who will win the battle? And what shape the masses will take in the future is yet to come. Is it the cultural,  the religion, or emancipation of new form of liberalism? Is it the new morality standards of the masses? I  think the OIC as well as any local, regional, or global organizations face these challenges in modern times. The question and the answer need grand knowledge for discussion and elaboration to reach a conclusion for the Muslim world under the emergence of globalization.  This subject continues. (536 words)
